In partnership with beyondblue, the national depression initiative, this topic encourages early recognition of the signs of depression among older people so we can assist them to seek help and recover faster.

Beyond Maturity Blues sessions will help increase knowledge about depression, its signs and symptoms and how to seek help. They aim to decrease the stigma around depression and demonstrate to people that it is not a normal part of ageing.

All sessions are free and take 30-60 minutes. Our peer educators know how to make them interesting and interactive, and how to empower older people to feel comfortable and confident in these issues related to healthy ageing. So participants can be assured of a very worthwhile learning experience and that they will take away heaps of knowledge, ideas and hand-outs.

The project is funded by Beyond Blue.
