COTA Queensland is proud to sponsor the 'Queensland Policy Council'; a place for senior organisations to come together to give voice to Queensland
senior's concerns and issues.
- The COTA Queensland Policy Council meets monthly to identify, research and determine issues of policy, develop policy and policy strategies and influence governments, media and other parts of the community through networking, representation and advocacy.
- Formal policy positions are adopted as the result of a process that ensures membership input and endorsement.
- Input can come from individual or organisational members, the public, state-wide consultation, website, seniorsinfolinks, projects and programs, etc. and can be proposals or issues.
- Proposals can come from individual members and member organisations, from Policy Councils based on input from members, and also from Policy Secretariats based on research into issues raised.
- The COTA Queensland Policy Council makes final decisions on State issues.
- Where the matter is of a National nature, the COTA Queensland Policy Council makes recommendations to the COTA National Policy Council for decision.
